SheetBrain ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you use SheetBrain, we collect your Google account email address to identify your account, track usage, and manage your subscription.

Spreadsheet Context: To generate accurate formulas, SheetBrain reads limited metadata from your active spreadsheet:

• Column headers and their positions
• Data types (text, number, date, currency)
• A small sample of data rows (up to 5 rows)
• Sheet names and named ranges

This context is sent to our AI service to generate relevant formulas. We do not store your spreadsheet data. It is processed in-memory and discarded immediately after generating the response.

Usage Data: We track the number of AI calls you make per month for billing purposes. We log the type of request (generate, explain, or debug) but do not permanently store the content of your queries.

Payment Information: If you subscribe to SheetBrain Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We receive your Stripe customer ID and subscription status from Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Generate, explain, and debug formulas based on your natural language queries and sheet context.
• Usage Tracking: Count your monthly AI calls to enforce free tier limits and manage Pro subscriptions.
• Billing: Process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe.
• Improve the Service: Analyze aggregate usage patterns (not individual data) to improve formula accuracy.

3. Third-Party Services

SheetBrain uses the following third-party services:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Processes your natural language queries and sheet context to generate formulas. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Handles payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: Stores your account information (email, plan, usage count) in a secure PostgreSQL database. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

• Spreadsheet context: Not stored. Processed in-memory and discarded immediately.
• Account information: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon request.
• Usage logs: Retained for billing and analytics purposes. Anonymized after 12 months.

5. Data Security

We take security seriously. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our backend uses API key authentication, rate limiting, and input validation. Spreadsheet data is never written to disk or logs.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Opt-out: Uninstall the add-on at any time to stop all data collection.

7. Children's Privacy

SheetBrain is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the add-on or via email. Continued use of SheetBrain after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
